Bio

A Taurus, born in the year of the water monkey and son of no less than 2 ballet dancers. Raised in 'village of the year 2012' Vrads, Adrian started playing music with his friends at the local music house. He picked up the bass in his early teens, and fooled around with bass, drums, guitar og keyboards, until he got his hands on a doublebass at the age of 18. He used the following years developing himself as an artist and muscian. His curiosity and interest in different genres and cultures led him to play in countries like Guinea, Russia, India, Japan, USA, Canada and most of Europe.In 2013 he started his studies at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he had the chance to explore his own style and the tradition of jazz. During his studies he did several exchange programs in schools like Sibelius Academy, Kungl. Musikhögskolan and Codarts.He is currently working freelance, teaching and enjoying life.

Adrian Christensen's style is very characteristic in terms of his rhythmic appraoch and dexterity, he developes rhytmich ideas on a solid foundation. After studying both rhythmical and classical music, Adrian is also very fluent playing arco(bow), using this language to explore the dynamic borders of modern jazz and contemproary music.Playing with groups like Abekejser and Clapper, Adrian shows that he is not only a proficient doublebass player, but also has a flair for other bass-instruments like the electric bass and synthesizers.

During his career he has been playing with artists like:Christian Balvig. AySay. Christian Vuust. Karmen Roivassepp. Aarhus Jazz Orchestra ft. Oh Land. Who Killed Bambi ft. Guldimund, Eegee, Lydmor, Jenny Wilson, Eivør, Asbjørn, Katinka, Henrik Lindstrand, and many others.

During Adrian's carreer he has been mainly focusing on writing and creating music together with his groups like Abekejser and Clapper But he is also a great composer and writes music both exciting and beautiful. Hi's style of composing is somewhat complex, and yet simple, to the point where the music has to be fun for both the musicians playing it, but also the audience listening.Adrian is currently working on his solo project Narva.
